Sexual Assault Cases at UNC-Chapel Hill

There have been 115 cases of sexual assault reported to UNC Police since 2015, according to data from the UNC Crime Log.

Still, almost every 2/3 incidents sexual violence go unreported.

Using national estimates, at UNC it is likely that nearly 4,000 undergraduate female students have experienced sexual violence.

This data was collected through a public records request by The Daily Tar Heel for crime log records since 2015. Using R, the crime log data was filtered for instances of sexual violence, sexual assault, rape and fondling. General assault and domestic assault were excluded from this data set.
